The cheapest ticket is not always the best deal. Sometimes the final price rises because of baggage, transit, airport choice or the change policy, so compare the full value of the trip rather than the first number you see.
Compare the final price
Add baggage, seat and payment fees and any transfer between two airports before comparing two offers.
Don't fix on one date
Being flexible by a day or two can open up different options in price and journey time, especially in peak seasons.
Watch the transit
The cheapest ticket may mean a long layover, an awkward arrival time or extra transit requirements.
The change policy matters
If your plans are not final, a slightly more expensive ticket with flexible changes can be better than a cheap non-changeable one.
The airport is not a detail
Some cities are served by several airports; calculate the cost and time to get from the airport to your hotel.
Tips before booking
- Compare the final cost, not just the starting price.
- Review the cancellation and change policy before paying.
- Keep a copy of your bookings and travel documents on your phone and in your email.
- For anything related to visas or entry, check the official source again before you travel.
